I'm a freelance journalist from what seems like the flatest state in the Midwest.
I worked at a daily newspaper for eight years when I quit cold turkey to freelance my way through life.
On most days I'm a Christian, and I'm still trying to figure out what exactly it means to be "Christian." I've found that many Christians and Christian theology and Christian philosophy don't fit into the neat and tidy boxes we want to pretend they do.
So why Christ and not Allah, the Eightfold Path or L. Ron Hubbard? That's an easy one: Christ seems most reasonable to me. Dangerous, yes, with the whole pick-up- your-cross-and-follow-me bit, but reasonable. Since I'm the type that needs something to believe in, I wanted that something to seem reasonable to me.
